
PRESIDENT: Upendra Mishra
Subu M. Kota
Mr. Kota serves as an advisor to INEBC. He is Chairman and CEO of The Boston Group, based
in Westborough, MA. Mr. Kota joined TBG in 1992 after spending 17 years at Data General
Corporation where he held a number of positions including managing the company’s global
technical support and quality assurance organizations, and managing strategic partnerships and
business alliances. Mr. Kota also co-founded a number of innovative IT service companies
that focused on Internet-based, online education, year 2000 compliance, pen optics and ERP
implementation services. Mr. Kota holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from the
Indian Institute of Technology.
Paula Murphy
Ms. Murphy is the founder and director of the Massachusetts Export Center, part of the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center Network. She has over twenty years of international business experience in both the public and private sectors. The Export Center helps Massachusetts firms to export their products and services overseas. She helps exporters through counseling, technical assistance, training, market research and publication development. In addition, she has organized several overseas marketing activities, such as trade shows and trade missions. She oversees the Export Center’s operations throughout the state, including the Centers offices in Boston, Worcester, Holyoke and New Bedford. State-wide, the Massachusetts Export Center generates significant economic impact each year. In 2006, companies reported over $160 million in export sales as a direct result of the Massachusetts Export Center’s assistance.
Vinaya Dubey
Mr. Dubey is an advisor to the INEBC and serves as a liaison in India for INEBC. Mr. Dubey is co-founder of New Delhi-headquartered BI Biotech India Pvt. Ltd., a distributor of quality biological research reagents for over 20 years for major U.S. and European companies in India and other South and Southeast Asian countries.
Kamlesh Misra
Dr. Misra is the director of G.D. Goenka World Institute in Haryana, India. After completing his Ph.D. from Northeastern University in Boston, he taught there as a lecturer until 1990. He completed his advanced training in Financial Management of Local and Regional Governments from Harvard Institute for International Development, Harvard University. He served as an Economist at Pittsburgh University from 1990 to 1994, when he returned to India to join as HDFC Associate Professor at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, New Delhi. He served as the Director of the Institute for Integrated Learning in Management, New Delhi from 1996 to March 2000. He served as the founding Director of The Institute for International Management & Technology, Gurgaon. Currently, he is Director of the G. D. Goenka World Institute, Sohna. Strategic management, management of government finances, economic restructuring and economics of industry are the areas of his special interest. Dr. Misra is the author of five books and has written over fifty papers in refereed journals. Prof. Misra has rich experience in institution building and has been a consultant to a number of educational institutions in India and abroad. He is known for his approach to quality higher education and for implementing systems and processes to serve the larger academic community of students and teachers.
Shahana Basu Kanodia
Ms. Kanodia is a Partner in the firm’s Business Law Department and Chair of the South Asia Practice Group at Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge (EAPD). Her practice areas include general corporate matters with a focus on cross border business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity and other strategic investments. EAPD is a full service, global law firm with over 600 lawyers and 13 offices, including offices in the US, UK and Hong Kong. Shahana serves on the Executive Board of the Yale Law School and is active in the Yale-India Initiatives. She also serves on the Steering Committees of the International Law Section and the M&A Committee of the Boston Bar Association and is a Fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Society in England. Shahana was a member of the New England Finance and Steering Committee for President Obama and accompanied President Obama to India in November 2010 as a delegate for the Presidential Business Executives Mission. She is a Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs and a Founding Member and Co-Chair of the TiE India Special Interest Group in Boston. She served on the Board of the Community Dispute Settlement Center and the Board of the Children’s Advocacy Center for Suffolk County. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of The Loomba Foundation, is an Overseer of the Peabody Essex Museum and a Trustee of the Lincoln Kanodia Foundation.
